Mr. John C. Pope, 88 of 5270 Garland Hwy., Clinton, NC, died February 6, 2017 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
Mr. Pope was the son of the late Joseph Edgar Pope and Mary Matthis Pope. Mr. Pope was the former owner of Pope Monument Company.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday February 9, 2017 at Epworth United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Stan Smith, Rev. Paul Honeycutt and Rev. Dorothy Rudd. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Pope is survived by his wife Cloyce Lockerman Pope, three daughters Judy Peterson & husband Jim, Deborah Bass & husband Berry and Pandora Merritt and husband Gene. One son, Rex Pope and wife Denise. Nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Wednesday February 8, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church
