Mr. Winfred T. Merritt Sr.  92 of 4167 Mote Rd. Harrells, NC, died Wednesday, January 09, 2019 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Colly Chapel Church by the Reverend Jim Woodruff.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Merritt was preceded in death by his, wife, Mary Jo Carter Merritt, son, David Joey Merritt, infant sons, Bobby & Steven Merritt, grandson, Mike Merritt, parents, W. Ivory & Octavia Merritt, sisters, Annie Sloan Mote, Mildred Bledsoe, Lizzy Gray Norris, brothers, Perry Merritt, Waitus Merritt

Mr. Merritt is survived by three daughters, Linda Woodruff (Jim) Abby Cain (Mark), Jane Norris, three sons, Winfred T. “Pee Wee” Merritt Jr. (Dorothy), Willie Merritt (Evelyn), Jimmy Merritt, granddaughters, Wendy Merritt (Danny), Tammy Merritt, Tarrah Woodruff, Erin Woodruff, Tabi Cain, grandsons, Mark Merritt (Erin), Greg Merritt (Janie), Jason Merritt (Michelle), James Woodruff (Brooke), Bobby Merritt (JoAnn), Cody Cain, Adam Merritt, Stevie Norris (Sherri), Colt Cain, Scottie Norris, great-grandchildren, Austin, Chris, & Summer Merritt, Bailey Cooke, Maverick Merritt, Jordan, Gage, Chase, Bentley, Conner Merritt, Hailey Bennett, Tristan Woodruff, Ben Merritt, Bobby Jr., Maddie, Levi, & Bailey Merritt, Riley & Sawyer Norris.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 6:00P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
