William H. Herring

William Henry Herring was born on August 07, 1926 in Tomahawk, NC to the late Percy Herring and Pearl Williams Herring.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie Melvin Herring and daughter, Rose H. McAllister. Two brothers, Allie Lee and Rudolph Herring, three sisters, Mary Pridgen, Lydia Kerr and Evelyn Autry.

William joined Tomahawk First Baptist Church at an early age where he served as Deacon for many years.

William (Bill) Herring leaves to cherish his memory: His wife, Lisa Odell, one son, Percell Herring (Linda), Clinton NC,  daughters: Lula Herring (Bobby) of Clinton NC, Ann Murphy(Henry) of Harrells,NC, Carolyn Parker (Jerry) of Clinton NC, Larue Herring, Harrells NC, Flossie Ellis (Larry) of Garland NC, Sabrina Odell (Travis) of Kenansville,NC . Two Stepdaughters, Cindy Odell, Kenansville NC and Amanda Murphy (Dwayne) Magnolia, NC. Son-in law Mack McAllister One granddaughter whom was he raised in his home, Angela Herring. Two grandsons: Daniel Herring (Tara) and James Murphy (Dawn). One God daughter: Gloria F. Demby, Mississippi. Two brothers: Carnell Herring (Faye) of Morrow, Ga., Gerald Herring (Margaret) of Durham NC, Sister-Laws: Mary L. Herring, Sandra Herring, Darlene Odell and Maureen Odell. Brother-Laws: Timothy Odell, and Roger Odell. Sixteen grandchildren, Sixty-two Great grand and Twenty four Great, Great Grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 18, 2022, at Carter Funeral Home in Garland. Interment to follow at William Herring Cemetery in Harrells.

A Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 1:00-6:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
