Mr. Tracy Wendell Cowan Sr., 64, of 4648 McNeil Rd, Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.

Mr. Cowan was born July 25, 1956 in Sampson County to the late Ivey E. Cowan and Esther Highsmith Cowan. Mr. Cowan graduated from Union High School in 1974 and went on to serve in the US Army in 1978 with the 612th Quarter Master Company Parachute Rigger 43E. After the military he worked for Lundy Packing Company and Cargill for 31 years. Mr. Cowan was a member of Hayes Chapel Church.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, September 11, 2020 at Hayes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Rosehill.

Mr. Wendell leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Connie Cowan, three children; Marcus Richardson (Angellica) of Charlotte, Latasha Dudley (Tracy) of Greenville, Tracy W. Cowan Jr. of Greenville, two grandchildren; Mckenna Cowan & Jamir Lewis, 4 sisters; Patricia Johnson (Pridgen) of Elizabethtown, Queen Robinson of Delway, Phyllis Melvin (Arthur) of Delway, Priscilla Cowan of Clinton, 1 brother; Ivey Cowan (Jennifer) of Fayetteville, aunts, Rosie Herring of Roseboro, Elizabeth Cooper of Delway, Pastor Thira Peterson of Clinton, Uncles, Philmore Herring of Roseboro. Perry Peterson of Clinton, Mother-in-law, Eloise Williams, 5 sister-in-law’s; Wanda Robinson, Beverly Davis, Karen Pridgen, Sharon Williams all of Salemburg, Gracie Williams of Cameron, 4 brother-in-law’s; Bobby Williams Jr. of Cameron, Chris Williams, Terry Robinson, Jeffery Pridgen all of Salemburg, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A walk through viewing will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 1:00-6:00 PM with the family present from 5-6 PM.
