Shirley Ruth James Perry

Ms. Shirley Ruth James Perry, 68, of 110 Willie Brown Rd., Roseboro, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at UNC Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC.  

Ms. Perry was born November 02, 1955, in Sampson Co. NC. The daughter of the late, John James Jr., and Katie Ruth Newman James. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Bernestine Clinkscale; Connie James, and three brothers: Cleveland Newman; Martin James; Richard “Pete” James. 

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 20, 2024, at Robinson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 221 Old Mintz Hwy, Roseboro, NC. Burial will follow in the Roseboro-Snowhill Cemetery. 

Ms. Perry is survived by two daughters: Tamekia Parker (Derrick) of Fayetteville, NC; Kendra James of Fayetteville, one son: Kendrick James (Necole) of Waldrof, MD, four sisters: Diane Long of Fayetteville; Peggy Sanders of Fayetteville; Dolly McKeithan of Charlotte; Willma Doggett of Brooklyn, NY, brother: Mozell James of Roseboro, 4 grandchildren: Rashyda Parker; Joshu Boykin Jr.; Carmen Boykin; Kennadee James, and host of nieces & nephews, and other relatives and friends.  

The public will be received on Thursday, September 19, 2024,  from 1:00 PM-6:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home, in Garland.
