Sadie Ladelle Newkirk

Ms. Sadie Newkirk, 74, of 408 Douglas Ave., Roseboro, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at PruittHealth in Raleigh, NC.

Sadie was born November 25, 1947, in Sampson County to the late Sadie Armwood and William Cleo Newkirk. Sadie was a veteran of the United States Army. She earned an Associate’s degree and worked for many years in Administration within the Public School System. Sadie is preceded in death by one daughter: Aretha Labelle Newkirk, her mother: Sadie Johnson, her father: William Cleo Newkirk.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Roseboro Snow Hill Cemetery, Roseboro, NC.

Sadie leaves to cherish her memory one daughter: Della Mervin of Cary, four grandchildren: Cree Newkirk of Roseboro; Aaron Mervin of Jacksonville; Travis Mervin of Cary; Jamison Mervin of Cary, one brother: William H. Newkirk (Anita) of Mebane, four sisters: Mary Mott (Cindy) of Clinton; Jane Ross (Bobby) of West Palm Beach, FL; Rosemary Jordan of Charlotte; and Marthel Parker of Winston-Salem.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 1:00-6:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
