On Saturday, August 21, 2021, around 5:30 pm, Robert “RJ” Junior Lamb was called home. He was born December 13, 1935, to the late Namon and Mary Anna Lamb. At an early age he became a member of Union Chapel AME Zion Church. He received his primary education from the Sampson County Public School System and continued to receive a Bricklaying Certification from Wayne Technical Institute in 1964 and a Drafting and Design diploma from James Sprunt Institute in 1969.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home in Garland with Rev. Glenwood Cooper & Rev. Elder Reginald Lamb officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Clinton.
He served three years in the United States Army; worked many years as a contractor with Lamb and Peterson Construction and Prestage Farms' Turkey Division. As a past time he enjoyed cutting grass and sitting outdoors.
In departing he leaves to cherish two sons, Ronald (Sylvia) and Reginald (Gail); Five Daughters, Ann, Annette, Shelia, Sarah, Christal; one brother, Marvin Lamb (Mattie); nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one special friend, Linda Gray and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland with the family present from 5:00 - 6:00 PM.
