Mr. Prentiss “Junebug” Waddell Johnson, Jr., of 383 Bland School Road, Harrells, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at his residence surrounded by loved ones.

Prentiss was born January 11, 1955, in Sampson County, to the late Prentiss Johnson, Sr., and his wife Azra Fennell Johnson. Prentiss was a proud Army Veteran, and was also a Concrete Mason. In addition to his parents, Prentiss is preceded in death by his wife: Linda Johnson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC. Reverend Kenneth Bryant will be officiating.

Prentiss leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter: Laddina Johnson of Baltimore, MD, two sons: Tamaro Johnson (Janelle) of Clayton, NC, Shawda Johnson (Amanda) of Hope Mills, NC, two sisters: Cherie Johnson of Hampton, VA, Alicia Johnson of Harrells, NC, one brother: Andre Johnson of Chester, VA, 8 grandchildren: Dasja Johnson, Saveon Johnson, Lindsey Carr, Micah Fasan, Jeremiah Johnson, Jayvon Antoine, Aziya Johnson, Khloe Johnson, one great-grandchild: Sabrianna Johnson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends of the community.
