Ms. Penelope Smith 61 of 511 B. Tall Oaks Dr. Elizabethtown, NC formerly of Garland, died Saturday July 09, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 3:00 PM at St. Stephens AME Zion Church in Garland with the Rev. Hugh Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Garland Community Cemetery

Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Yolanda Smith of NJ and Sharita Smith of GA; one brother Willie J. Smith of Garland, two sisters Zenobia Smith-Brack & husband Eddie & Linda D. Smith of NJ. Four grandchildren, Yusef Mapp, Sergio Ortiz, Adria Smith and Samiyah Ortiz.

A Public viewing will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016  from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
