Nancy Jane (Thomas) Skinner

Mrs. Nancy Jane Thomas Skinner, 72, of 41 Powell Ave., Garland, NC, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Highsmith Rainey Hospital in Fayetteville, NC.

Nancy was born September 08, 1950, in Sampson County to James Luther Thomas and his wife Lillie Murphy Thomas. Nancy worked for many years as a CNA, in the healthcare industry. She is preceded in death by her father: James Luther Thomas.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 29, 2023, at St. Stephen AME Zion Church, 51 East 3rd Street, Garland. The Reverend Bobby Simmons will be officiating the service. Interment to follow at the Garland Community Cemetery.

Nancy leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband: Leo James Skinner, one son: James “Jimmy” Skinner (Shana) of Harrells, one daughter: Demetrice “Dee” Skinner (Carzellous) of Charlotte, her mother: Lillie Thomas of Garland, two sisters: Veronica Thomas of Garland; Sheila Smith (Dean) of Garland, three brothers: Garfield Thomas (Shirley) of NY; Luther Ray Thomas (Willa Dean) of Raleigh; Clarkston Thomas (Connie) of Garland, and 6 beloved grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 1:00-5:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.

The family will receive friends at the home of Lille Thomas, 17351 Garland Hwy (701), Garland.
