ROSEBORO Ms. Rosie Lee James 86 of 50 Willie Brown Rd., died Monday, July 28, 2014 at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point, NC. Ms. James was born March 28, 1928 in Sampson Co., NC, to the late John James, Sr. and Pinkey Melvin James. She was preceded in death by six brothers, and four sisters, Ella, Vera, John, Richard, Edward, Randolph, Theady, Helen, David and Willard. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 02, 2014 at Sams Spring AME Zion Church by the Reverend John M. Melvin. Burial will follow in the Roseboro-Snow Hill Cemetery. Ms. James is survived by one son, Algernon Al James of Julian, NC, 3 grandchildren, Theresa Evans (Paul) of Julian, NC, Algernon Dewayne James (Brandi) of Mount Pleasant, NC, and Brandon James., 3 great-grandchildren, Antonio Hemmingway of Durham, NC, Darwin Hemmingway of Clinton, NC, Shakyme Mathis of the home. Her little angels, Truth, Deuce, Brayden, Eli, Zamiyia, Phillip, and Kiyan. Two special sister-in-laws, Ella James and Katie James both of Roseboro, NC, her special side-kick and partner, Ms. Verlene Melvin along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The public will be received, Friday, August 01, 2014 from 2:00P.M.-6:00P.M, with family present from 5:00P.M.-6:00P.M. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
