Mrs. Mary Blackburn Smith 89 passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 to be with her Lord.
Mrs. Smith was born in Bladen Co, on October 04, 1923 the daughter of the late George & Tilly Norris Blackburn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dannie Marshall Smith, one son, Kenneth Marshall Smith, and two grandsons, Daniel Smith and Mike Marshall Smith. She retired from Black & Decker in Fayetteville.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Cypress Creek Baptist Church in Garland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Philip N. Smith Sr. and wife Joni of Fayetteville, Jimmie Smith and wife Kaye of Eastover, 5 grandchildren, Terry Smith, Yuvonda Bersson, Philip N. Smith Jr., Jamie Salmon, Jason Smith, 2 step-grandchildren Lora Dietrich, Kevin McLaurin, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M.8:00P.M. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
