Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Smith, 92, of 74 Pinecrest Parkway, Wilmington, NC formerly of Ivanhoe, died on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
Mrs. Smith was born, November 15, 1921 in Sampson Co., the daughter of the late Walter Herbert Pate and Bertha Marie Horrell.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Pine Valley Church of God 3810 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington. Burial will follow in the Dyson Family Cemetery 12345 NC Hwy. 210 East, Ivanhoe, NC.
Mrs. Smith is survived by one son, Ronald Sampley and wife Debra of Buckhannon, WV, two brothers, Kenneth Pate of Ahoskie, NC, Ray Pate of Georgia, one sister, Hazel Hines of Concord, NC, Iris Gurganous of Wath, four grandchildren, Wendy Shehan, Kimberly Evans, Barbara Hedrick, Owen L. Sampley, 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-10:50AM, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the church before the service.
