Mrs. Annie Pearl Newkirk 85 of 1174 Wilbur Pridgen Rd., died Thursday, August 14, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Newkirk was born, February 02, 1929 in Sampson Co., NC the daughter of the late Johnny Newton, and Janne Carver. She was preceded in death by her son Floyd Newkirk, Jr. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Newkirk Cemetery in Harrells. Mrs. Newkirk is survived by three daughters, Sudie Highsmith, Annie Chestnutt both of Harrells, Lela Rich of Roseboro, three sons, Johnnie Newkirk, Darryl Newkirk both of Harrells, Robert Newkirk of Garland, one brother, Hezik Newton of Harrells, one sister, Irene McNeil of Garland, 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. The public will be received from 1:00P.M.-6:00P.M., Monday, August 18, 2014 at Carter Funeral Home in Garland, and other times at the home of Annie Chestnutt 1255 Wilbur Pridgen Rd., Harrells, NC.
