Mark Anthony McDonald, 60, went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday morning, July 1, 2014.
Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his parents, Troy L. McDonald, Sr. of Durham and Juanita Saunders Vallese of Turkey, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Moody and Rev. Leah Rade officiating. Burial will follow in the Garland Cemetery.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Denise Dodson McDonald; son, Jamie McDonald and wife Lauren of Durham; three sisters, Peggy Moran, Gloria Williams, both of Turkey and Marie McMahon, of Florida; three brothers, Troy McDonald, Jr. of Clinton, Bruce McDonald and Carl Vallese, both of Georgia; grandsons, Mason and Jaxon McDonald; several nieces and nephews and his beloved golden retrievers.
The family will recieve friends from 1-2 pm on Friday, July 4, 2014 at Carter Funeral Home before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, External Affairs Office, UNC-CH CB# 7295, Chapel Hill, NC 27599-7295.
