Mattie "Shortie" Reeves (Robinson) Devane

Mrs. Mattie “Shortie” Reeves DeVane, 94, of 2006 Bywood Road, Greensboro, formerly of Ivanhoe, passed away on Thursday, April 06, 2023, at her residence.

Mattie was born March 17, 1929, in Sampson County, to the late Winfield Robinson and his wife Marie. In addition to her parents, Mattie is preceded in death by her beloved husband: James Carroll DeVane, one son: James Lewis DeVane, and one brother: Harold Robinson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Royal Chapel MBC, 7660 Ivanhoe Road, Ivanhoe. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memory one son: David DeVane (Bertha) of the home, one daughter: Florence Carter of Las Vegas, NV, two brothers: James E. Robinson of Beaverton, OR, Charles A. Robinson (Minnie) of Harrells, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

A public viewing will be held Friday, April 14, 2023, from 10:00-10:45 at Royal Chapel MBC in Ivanhoe, prior to the service.
