Mamie Cromartie

On 16 December 2020 Mamie Jane Spearman Cromartie saw that beautiful light that guided her home. Mamie Cromartie began her journey June 1, 1924 blessed by Amos Spearman and Mattie Tatum. One day Mamie was attending church service at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and caught the eye of Garfield Cromartie that created a union of 71 years of marriage. As a Wife, Mother and Grandmother Mamie got pleasure baking, gardening and sewing for her family. Mamie loved entertaining with colorful jokes and a loving spirit.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Spearman Family Cemetery in Harrells, NC officiated by Reverend Lilly Hollingsworth and Reverend Willie C. Alford.

Mamie was preceded in life by her husband Garfield Cromartie, Brothers; Henry Spearman (Quessie Mae Spearman), Johnny Spearman (Mae Belle Spearman), Sister; Margie Spearman (Seb Johnson).

Mamie leaves to cherish her memory two Daughters; Mattie Cromartie of Harrells, Alice Lamb (Robert) of Castle Hayne, Grandchildren; Sophia Cromartie, Melinda Washington, Erica Washington, Melissa Lamb, Garfield Gerald Washington, Christopher Lamb, Great-Granddaughter; Michaela Lamb and numerous Nieces & Nephews.

A viewing will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 1:00 PM-6:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland, NC.
