Kathryn "Kitty" (Cole) Nye

September 28, 1962 — March 3, 2018

Kathryn (Kitty) Cole Nye, 55, of White Lake, NC, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Elizabethtown Baptist Church. The Reverends Dr. David Elks and Nathan Morton will be officiating. Visitation will be held in the church sanctuary from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm on Wednesday. The family will hold a private burial.

Kitty was born in Robeson County on September 28, 1962. She graduated from Heidelberg High School in Heidelberg, Germany and continued on to receive a degree in Speech Pathology from North Carolina State University.

Kitty was married to Eddie Nye on August 12, 1989 at the Elizabethtown Baptist Church.

Kitty worked as a flight attendant for US Airways before working with her husband at Nye Insurance Agency/ Nationwide Insurance. She was active in the community, serving her church for many years. Kitty served the town of White Lake, NC as a town commissioner for eight years and was a dedicated leader in Boy Scouts.

Kitty is survived by husband, Eddie Nye; children Nathan Nye and Cole Nye; mother Lislie McKee Gemma and stepfather Dr. Frank Gemma and stepmother Betsy Cole; four brothers, Hunt Cole (Sandy), Allan Cole (Michelle), Lee Cole (Elizabeth), and Steve Gemma (Susan); two sisters, Karen Yoshijima and Linda Gemma-Lindberg; many well loved nephews and nieces and a multitude of family and friends.

Kitty is preceded in death by her father, Willis Hunter Cole, Jr; an infant son, Nicholas Nye.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Elizabethtown Christian Academy, 1800 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
