Mrs. Karen Elizabeth (Smith) Pontak, 54, of 6292 Old Fayetteville Road, Garland, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Karen was born February 25, 1968, in Cumberland County to Doug & Gloria Smith. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Karen was a Caregiver, stay-at-home-Mom, and a Student.

All services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Karen leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Phil Pontak of the home, son: Troy Pontak of Ammon, two daughters: Megan and husband Gray Melvin with grandson Grady of Ammon; Katie Pontak of Raleigh, parents: Doug and Gloria Smith of Ammon, two brothers: Kevin Smith and family of Hampstead; Ronnie Nelson of Gunbarrel, CO.
