On Tuesday morning, November 30th, 2021, Glennwood slept away quietly.
He was born May 28th, 1961, in Sampson Memorial Hospital to Julius Kerr Jr. and Isabella Kerr. He was educated at Sampson County Schools. Glen joined Pilgrim Rest at an early age. He was a member of the little Pilgrim’s choir and enjoyed singing.
He was married to the late Darlene Murphy Kerr. To the union was brought, two girls: Glenetta Kerr; and Lynette Kerr.
He is preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers, and one nephew.
He is survived by his father: Julius Kerr (Nancy), and his mother: Isabella Kerr, his children: Glenetta Kerr; and Lynette Kerr. His sisters: Julia K. Newkirk; Victoria Robinson (Greg); and Natalie. Brothers: Linwood Kerr (Rosalee); Terry Highsmith. His grandson: Zaiden Pierce. Four Aunts: Rev. Laura Corbett (Billy); Mary Newkirk; Shirley Kerr; Melva Kerr, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Special Cousins: Therssa Kerr; Rev. Jerry Corbett; Wayne Chestnutt; and Barry Highsmith (Bo-Bo).
His memory will be cherished by all those that knew him and he will live on in our hearts forever.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 02, 2021, from 1:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM/Noon Friday, December 03, 2021, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Harrells. The service will be presided by Dr. Jerry D. Corbett, Rev. Garry Kerr, Eulogist. and Rev. Larry B. Faison, Pastor.
