Johnnie Ray Pollard

Johnnie Ray Pollard peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

Johnnie was born on October 02, 1946, in Harrells, NC, to the late John and Catherine Cooper Pollard. He attended school in Sampson County, served in the US Army, and joined the Philadelphia Police Department, from which he retired. Johnnie loved family outings, and traveling. He loved God and his family.

Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents, John & Catherine Pollard, and his son: Anthony (Tony) Smith. 

A funeral will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC. Interment to follow in the service in the Hayes Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Rose Hill, NC.

Johnnie leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter: Rana Terry (Craig) of Philadelphia, PA, two sons: Johnnie Pollard Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; David “Troy” Pollard (Dakilah) of Philadelphia, PA, one sister: Edna Bethae of Rose Hill, NC, 7 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one aunt: Mary Sellars of Harrells, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

A Public Viewing will be held from 1:00-6:00 PM on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC.
