John Marshall Strickland

Mr. John Marshall Strickland 87 205 West 4th St., died Thursday. May 2, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Strickland was born September 06, 1931 in Sampson Co. the son of the late David Strickland & Robbie Powell Strickland.  He was preceded in death by a brother, David “DR” R. Strickland, two sisters, Francie Gaskins, and Annie Belle Strickland.  Mr. Strickland was retired Navy veteran having severed for 20 plus years.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 05, 2019 at Garland Church of God of Prophecy.  Burial will follow in the Garland Cemetery.

Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, Ellen Strickland, one daughter, Sheila Mote and husband Raeford of Garland, two sons, John D. Strickland and wife Phyllis of Faison, Scott Strickland of Garland, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 04, 2019 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
