Janice (Jernigan) Smith

Mrs. Janice Smith, 76, of 535 Cain Rd. passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Janice was born March 30, 1945, to the late Lacy and Florence Jernigan. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter: Addison Jane Smith, brothers: Jerry Jernigan; Earl Jernigan; Glenn Jernigan,  sisters: Bonnie Bivens and Patricia Peterson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, February 08, 2022, at Friendship Bible Holiness Church in Harrells.  The Rev. Jimmy Tatum and Rev. Gregory Connors will be officiating the service. Interment to follow the service at Garland Cemetery in Garland.

Janice leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband: Larry Smith of the home, daughters: Melissa Newkirk and husband Tommy; Georgia “Jodie” Mote, son: Adam Smith, two brothers: Billy Jernigan; Millard Jernigan, grandchildren: Sabrina Newkirk; Darren Newkirk; Lynsey Burnside and husband Josh; Samantha King and husband Daniel, great-grandchildren: Dealyn Jones; Madelyn Burnside, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:50 PM, at Friendship Bible Holiness Church in Harrells.
