James "Buck" Edgar Wilkes, Jr.

Mr. James “Buck” Edgar Wilkes, Jr., 74, of 3800 Lamb Road, Garland, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at his residence surrounded by loved ones.

Buck was born May 16, 1949, in Bladen County, to the late James Edgar and his wife Lula Marie Wilkes. Buck enjoyed a long career in Retail Sales for the Sampson Building Supply Company in Clinton.

Arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.

Buck leaves to cherish his memory, his companion: Gladys Dabbs, two sons: Jamie Wilkes of Clinton, and Eddie Wilkes and wife Leigh of Clinton, one daughter: Pam Wilkes Freeman and husband Robert of Lawrenceville, GA, three sisters: Gayle Reiber and husband Chubby of Clinton, Ileen Fisher of AL, and Marylin Kelly and husband Stoney of  Clinton, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
