Hugh Junior Chavious

Mr. Hugh Junior Chavious, 64, of 560 Bill Town Road, Rose Hill, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at his residence.

Hugh was born June 30, 1958, in Sampson County to the late Hugh Coolidge Chavious and his wife Claretta Ward Washington Chavious. He enjoyed a career as a Commercial Mover for Interstate Movers. In addition to his parents, Hugh is preceded in death by one daughter: Tynisha Michelle Chavious, two sisters: Gertha Florence Ward; JoAnn Chavis Butler, and one brother: Carl Richard Ward.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2023; at Hayes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Rose Hill. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Hugh leaves to cherish his memory one son: Travis Ray Shawn Chavious of Smithfield, one daughter: Kristy Michelle Chavious of Goldsboro, two brothers: Lloyd Ward and wife Marilyn of Wilson; Arthur Chavis Sr. of Rose Hill, four sisters: Wilda Maynor; Rev. Sandra Spell; Antionette Moore; and Dora Ray; all of Rose Hill.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023; at Carter Funeral Home in Garland, from 1:00-6:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00-6:00 PM.
