Gladys Smith Johnson

February 26, 1934 — January 14, 2022

Garland

Gladys Hope Smith Johnson resided at 1400 Old Fayetteville Road Garland, North Carolina.  It was there she loved and enjoyed God’s handiwork in the beauty of nature.  If you ever had the pleasure of having a conversation with her you would know the pinecones in her front yard was something she felt she had to pick up every day.  It was the simple things that made her happy and the joy she felt in those times illuminated that precious face with the biggest smile you would ever see.

There is no doubt that Gladys is in Heaven enjoying the gifts promised of our Father and among those in that group will be her husband, Keith, her son, Lynn, her mama Nannie Belle, and her sister Jane.  As the scripture tells us “we will know as we are known” so we are sure there are many others from her Cypress Creek Church Family with her as well.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her sister, Joette Pate (Wayne) of Garland, her daughters, Jennifer Coble, from Garland, and her daughter Vickie Lou Nagy (Bob), from Jacksonville, Florida, and daughter-in-law, Anna Johnson of Garland.  Her grandchildren, Kenny (Jaime) from Charlotte, David (Marcy) from Wilmington, Brittany (Matt) from Leland, and Danielle (Conor) from Tampa, Florida. She was also blessed with 6 grandchildren – Jackson, Caroline, Brody from Charlotte, and Grayson, Cristian, and Sofia from Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Lower Cape Fear Life Care Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr. Wilmington, NC 28401, or Hickory Grove Fire Dept. 15813 US Hwy 701 N. Garland, NC 28441 or Cypress Creek Baptist Church, 1411 Old Fayetteville Rd. Garland, NC 28441.
