Mr. Fred Newton Norris 89, 2722 Bull St., died Monday, September 19, 2011 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, NC
Mr. Norris was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He worked 24 yrs with the Bladen Lakes State Forest. He served as a faithful Deacon at Cypress Creek Baptist Church and Friendship Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Friendship Baptist Church, by the Reverend Gary McMillan, and Reverend Amos Smith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Norris is survived by one son, Nelson Norris and wife Amy, two daughters, Betty Davis and Husband Bill, Phyllis Smith and husband James, four grandchildren, Gary Davis and wife Tonya, Tina Clark and Husband Chris. Paige Smith and Tracy Smith, six-great-grandchildren, Kayla Davis, Gary Alan, Hunter Clark, Cody Clark, Jessica and Johanna
The family will receive friends from 7:00P.M.-8:30P.M. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
