Elma Marshburn Bradley, 89, passed peacefully at her home in McLeansville, NC on May 11, 2022.

Elma was born on October 31, 1932, to the late Samuel and Clayton Marshburn on the family farm in Bladen County. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband

Elma was very active in her community and was passionate about her service to others and her church. She was involved in several community groups, specifically the Young at Hearts senior group at New Bessemer Baptist Church where she was a longtime leader and member. One of her favorite service projects was quilting baby blankets to donate to the Women’s Hospital and sewing pillows and hats to donate to the hospital for cancer patients receiving treatments. Elma was also a jack of all trades. She was an exceptional quilter and seamstress, loved to crochet, and was an avid baker. When she wasn’t inside crafting, you could find her in her lavish garden where she enjoyed growing a variety of flowers and vegetables. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 16th at 11:00 am at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery in Harrells, NC. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at New Bessemer Baptist Church at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her honor to New Bessemer Baptist Church in McLeansville, NC, or Community Home Care & Hospice in Burlington, NC.
