Dorothy Staton

Mrs. Dorothy Horne Staton, 87, of 316 N. Church Ave., Garland, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at her residence.

Dorothy was born on March 02, 1937, in Sampson County to the late James H. Horne and his wife Rebecca Marshall Horne. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: David Staton, brother: Charles Horne, and sister: Magdalene Edge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 03, 2024, at Garland Baptist Church, 55 West 2nd St., Garland, with the Reverend Ed. Rouse officiating. Interment to follow in the Garland Cemetery, 1030 Harrells Hwy., Garland. 

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory one son: Richard Staton of Kenansville, one daughter: Renee Freeman (LH) of Supply, three sisters: Minnie Horne of Garland; Eunice Fincannon of Garland, and Becky Moser of Garland, one brother: Marshall Horne (Betty Jo) of Garland, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, and many friends in the community. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 03, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 PM, before the service, at Garland Baptist Church, 55 West 2nd St., Garland.
