Cynthia "Cindy" Denise (Ward) Johnson

Mrs. Cynthia “Cindy” Denise Johnson, 60, of Castle Hayne, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

Mrs. Johnson was born February 09, 1963, in Columbus County, Whiteville, NC.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva M. Ward, and sister, Gloria M. Ward.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Carter Funeral Home, by Pastor Mary Ellen Robeson.  Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Norris Rd. (Bladen Co.), Garland, NC.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Dean Johnson, step-son, David Johnson (Lauren), four brothers, Bobby Dale Ward of Summerville, SC, Gary Franklin Ward of Whiteville, NC, James W. Buffkin of North Charleston, SC, Barry Ward of Pittsburg, PA, mother-in-law, Shirley Johnson, father-in-law, Malcom Johnson, sister-in-law, Shelia Wells (Mike), brother-in-law, Randy Johnson (Patty), several nieces & nephews, and great-nieces & great-nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20, 2023, 12:00-12:45 P.M., before the service at the funeral home.
