Georgia Carol Treadwell of Salemburg, NC The daughter of the late Almer Thompson and Martha Mae Leak was born January 19,1945 in Sarah Gorter NC. She was the youngest of 6 children. Carol moved to Newburgh, Ny with her family in her adolescence. She attended North Junior high school and Newburgh Free Academy.
She was united in holy matrimony to Deems Treadwell on November 21, 1981.
They then later relocated to Highland Falls, NY. Carol loved to fish and cook. She was blessed with a green thumb, which she used to her advantage, constantly growing gardens. She could grow anything, but she grew the best Collard greens. Lets not forget She always kept a spotless house. She quietly entered eternal rest on Tuesday April 16,2019 surrounded by her family. She was 74. She was predeceased in death by her oldest daughter Catrina Mae Williams in 1997 and siblings Almer G. Thompson and Willie A. Thompson.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Carter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Garland Community Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 1:00 P.M.-6;00 P.M. Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her Daughters: Hannah Williams of Newburgh, NY, Elder Tina Melvin of Fayetteville, NC, Carla Mcclaine of Fayetteville, NC and Julia Thompson of Decatur, GA; Siblings, Hannah Thompson of Poughkeepsie, NY, Martha Butler of Coats, NC and Eddie J. Thompson of Newburgh, NY; 28 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; a host of devoted nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 1:00 P.M.-6;00 P.M. Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
