Ashley Lynn McConnell, of White Lake, NC formerly of Cary, NC, went to her forever home Monday, December 13th, 2021.
Ashley was born to Carl and the late Kay McConnell. Ashley was raised in Cary, NC among a close-knit family. Ashley had her son, Jonathan McConnell in 2005 and he quickly became her pride and joy. She left her hometown and moved to White Lake in her adult life and quickly fell in love with the area. Recently she was thrilled to become a mother again to Makayla Ann.
She loved sewing with her grandmother and crafts with her mother, which led her to a career of creativity. She took photographs for many friends and strangers who became friends and caught many special moments, whether it was a birth, wedding, or family photographs. Ashley along with her sister operated All Out Stitches and created many outfits, shirts, and monogrammed items for people all over.
Ashley never met a stranger and impacted everyone’s life that she was a part of and because of this, she had many friends that loved her. She loved children and would take many friends' kids under her wing and love them as her own. Her beautiful smile was contagious and was a ball of fire.
Ashley is preceded in death by her loving mother, Kay McConnell, her adored Aunt Sara Martin, her precious daughter Makayla Ann, grandparents; Charles and Shirley Watkins and Carl and Jean McConnell.
She is survived by her Father, Carl McConnell Jr, Son; Jonathan McConnell of the home, Sister and Best Friend; Mandy McConnell Branch (Daniel) of Fuquay-Varina, Aunt and Uncles; Barbara (Mac) of Fuquay-Varina, Jeff Martin of Holly Springs, cousins that were more like siblings; Thomas Poole (Lisa) and daughter Ellison of Fuquay-Varina, John Poole (Lauren) and daughter Palmer of Angier, Carl Martin (Megan) and son Hudson of McGee’s Crossroads, and Evan Martin of MN, and many special friends.
The family would like to sincerely thank all the prayers and support during Ashley’s hospital stay and all the medical staff that was a part of her care while at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
