Arthur Ervin Owens

Arthur E. Owens, 74, of 3567 Hwy 210 W Garland, NC departed this early life on September 25, 2020. He was born March 9, 1946 to the late Marvin Owens, Sr. of Garland, NC and the late Bessie Townsend of Brownsville, SC.

Mr. Owens attended the Bladen County school system and retired from a long career in lumber logging. In addition, he was highly skilled in plumbing, auto mechanics, carpentry, and electrical services.

He is survived by loving daughters; Jaha Ozibodi (aka Paulette Owens) of Parkville, MD, Angela S. Butler of Garland, NC and step-daughter Jacklyn Jackson of Baltimore, MD. Grandchildren; Mecca Shadee and Ayanna Shadee both of Baltimore, MD, Talik Hope and Nica Owens both of Garland, NC, Darius Reed and Derrick Reed both of Los Angeles, CA; Great-grandchild Rico Reed of Los Angeles, CA; Siblings; Johnny (Dorothy) Owens of Roseboro, NC, Donald (Joyce) Owens of Roseboro, NC, Leander (Annie) Owens of Garland, NC, Marvin (Christina) Owens, Jr. of Whiteville, NC, Howard (Evelene) Owens of Garland, NC, Janice (Jerry) Highsmith of Garland, NC, Patricia (Steven) Sellers of Garland, NC, Phyllis Monk of Fayetteville, NC, Deborah (Scott) Lloyd of Garland, NC, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

He was predeceased by one grandson; Qur’an Shadee, four brothers Jimmy Owens, Daniel (Pauline)Owens, Harry Owens, and Douglas Owens; six sisters; Carolyn Boykin, Mimigail Owens, Sennie (Wornell)Brothers, Betty Newkirk, Sandra Owens, and Cathy McMillan.

A graveside service will held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, October 03, 2020 at the Owens Cemetery in Garland.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, October 02, 2020 from 1:00P.M.-6:00P.M.
