Mary Lois Herring

Mrs. Mary Lois Melvin Herring, 92, of 7215 Tomahawk Hwy, Harrells, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, in Harrells.

Mary was born April 25, 1931, in Cumberland County to the late Rommie and Lougannie Owens Melvin. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband: William Junior Herring, one son: Dwight Herring, 4 brothers, 2 sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 9364 Wildcat Road, Ivanhoe, NC. Interment to follow in the Tomahawk First Baptist Church Cemetery, 8340 Tomahawk Hwy, Harrells, NC. Reverend Jimmy Melvin will be officiating the service.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory three sons: Caldon Ray Herring (Katie) of Harrells, Barney Lee Herring of Harrells, Larry J. Herring (Dorothy) of Roseboro, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, 1 brother-in-law: Laro Sidney Herring, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 1:00-6:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC.
