Lois Maryland Hayes

Ms. Lois Maryland Hayes, 78, of 8443 Ivanhoe Road, Harrells, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Whiteville.

Lois was born March 04, 1945, in Sampson County, to the late Lester Dale Hayes and his wife Bessie Murphy Hayes.  In addition to her parents, Lois is preceded in death by one sister: Francis Bailey, eight brothers: Lawrence Hayes; Lester Hayes Jr.; Willie Hayes; Raymond Hayes; Howard Hayes; Herman Hayes; Lewis S. Hayes; and Leroy Hayes.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Carter Funeral Home in Garland. The Reverend Willie Imes will be officiating the service. Interment to follow at the Jumping Run Cemetery in Ivanhoe.

Lois leaves to cherish her memory four sisters: Lillian Imes of Harrells; Minnie Robinson (Charles) of Harrells; Gaynell DeVane of Roseboro; Margaret Williams of NJ, one sister-in-law: Marie Rose Hayes of Willard, and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 1:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
